The Petroleum Extension Service (PETEX) will begin offering a new certification program in petroleum land management in San Antonio in mid-September.
PETEX is a unit of the Division of Continuing Education at The University of Texas at Austin.
John Hoopingarner, director of PETEX, says the increased activity in the Eagle Ford Shale (in South Texas) and Barnett Shale (located in the Bend Arch-Fort Worth Basin) is driving interest for the program.
